Senior Garment Technologist

We are recruiting for the role of Senior Garment Technologist for Tailoring, based in our Head Office in Central London. The overall purpose of the role is to assure consistent premium product quality is developed directly at source with Supplier/Manufacturers, whilst being fully aligned with the business and department objectives and having a well-developed understanding of the target customer. 

Key responsibilities:

Champions consistently high standards of quality assurance in product development throughout the supply chain.Communicates product specification to ensure ‘Best Practice’ in product development.

Demonstrates technical expertise and knowledge of fit requirements across multiple product areas.

Manages the sealing process.

Promotes ‘Right First Time’ approach to sealing submission.

Working closely with the Buying team and Fabric Technologist, managing continuity across supply base and product type in line with differing fabrications, identifying and analysing problems proposing solutions.

Liaises with the Design and Creative Development team to establish the most cost. effective way of delivery requirements engineering products to achieve the lowest possible cost whilst maintaining product value and premium quality standards.

Develops close working relationships with all Suppliers to improve manufacturing capabilities.

Develops current and new Suppliers to be responsive to business needs.

Works to remain aware of industry standards and developments with up to date knowledge of machinery and construction methods.

Supporting the training of Quality Assurance team members to ensure continuous development.

Key skills required:

Technical experience in managing, delivering and evaluating premium quality product.

Previous track record of working within garment technology, product development including pattern development, grading and lay planning.

Ability to manage fit and product sealing programs to achieve critical path and delivery schedules.

Able to build effective working relationships at all levels both with suppliers and colleagues in a way that appears natural and effortless.

Aware of what is happening now as well as what is likely to happen in the future and making the appropriate changes to product specifications.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly, Outlook, Excel and Word.

Brand Co-ordinator

We are currently recruiting for the position of Brand Co-ordinator based in our Head Office in the heart of Central London. The overall purpose of this role is to co-ordinate the creative output across the Design & Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create the digital flats for every selected design, ensuring these are coloured up post confirmation meetings, transferred to boards and copied for the Buying & Merchandising teams

- Co-ordinate the weekly schedule of all students, planning their timetable according to the needs of the department

- Prepare the design space prior to meetings, preparing all garments on magnetic walls, photographing all selected phases and distributing these photographs to Design, Buying and Merchandising.

- Photograph all ‘looks’ which have been created by the Senior Brand Stylist throughout the season and keep filed and distributed to all relevant departments

- Attend styling meetings for the digital look book, photograph all looks and create boards

- Attend seasonal shoot meetings, photographing all looks for the mood boards and generally assisting at the shoot meetings

- Assist with press days, locating samples packing and moving them to the location and assisting the Visual Merchandising team with support from Student Placements

Facilities Co-ordinator

We are currently recruiting for the position of Facilities Coordinator based in our Head Office in the heart of Central London. The overall responsibility is to co-ordinate facilities management across the Hobbs estate, Retail, Head Office and Distribution, alongside managing reception and buying administration teams.

Other responsibilities in this role:

- To be a second line support for all store and DC, facilities management, maintenance and minor works.

- Be an interface between the stores and appointed contractors ensuring maintenance, both planned and ad-hoc is delivered to the required standard.

We are currently recruiting for the position of Accounts Payable Assistant based in our Head Office in the heart of Central London. The overall responsibility of the role is to ensure that liabilities are correctly stated, suppliers are paid appropriately and that posting of costs to the ledgers are correct.

- Manage overheads and Capital Expenditure Bought Ledger and Purchases Bought Ledger.

- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

- Generating payments for approved invoices.

- Ensuring payments/credit notes are matched against invoices.

- Reconciling key supplier statements, following up outstanding discrepancies and liaising with external suppliers on disputed items.

- Review and clearance of old and slow moving creditor accounts.

Assistant Buyer - Head Office

Responsible for ensuring all proto samples are received on time for meetings and ensures full costing breakdowns are submitted and prices collated onto the range plan.

Checks new developments against the Design Specs and shares opinions with Buyer and Designer

Escalates any issues with Samples in advance of key meetings and offers solutions to remedy such

Prepare for and attend fit meetings. Contribute to fit meetings by raising any concerns with regards to fit, quality of make or performance of trims/fabrics.

Work closely with your Buyer on price negotiations to ensure margin targets are met whilst maintaining the integrity of the product and the Hobbs brand.

Ensure the CIMS order management system is accurate and reflects order commitment on contracts, fabrics and trims.

Website and UX Analyst - Head Office

 We are currently recruiting for the position of Website and UX Analyst, based in our Head Office in the heart of Central London. The overall responsibility of the role is to deliver in-depth website and market analysis, providing insights to help develop an optimal customer experience and ever-improving online conversion rate, in line with the multi-channel business plan and overall international ecommerce strategy.

The main responsibilities in this role will be;

Website analyst

·         Create and maintain daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports and as well as ad hoc reporting. Reports cover site / desktop / tablet / mobile and Hobbs’ international websites

·         Use purchase funnel analysis to identify improvement areas

·         Identify performance goals for new projects and create reports to share the insights, as well as proposing analytics tagging to fill any gaps in current data collection

·         Support managers by providing analysis and commentary to supplement board-level presentations, reports and business cases

UX

·         Diagnose site issues, propose fixing projects, help supervise and check UX practitioner’s output, with the objective of continually improving on-site UX and conversion

·         Create a qualitative and quantitative site testing strategy and tactical timeline, including identifying key tools to use and/or collaborative suppliers where necessary

·         Conduct A/B/MVT testing based on analysis and your understanding of business priorities

·         Conduct/commission  user testing/research exploring customer behaviour and motivations

Technical skills required;

·         Proven experience working in web analytics (at least 2 years’ experience)

·         In depth knowledge of Google Analytics, including customisation, goals, segments, dashboards and custom reports.

·         Experience of Google Universal Analytics is desirable.

·         Ability to use APIs to populate spreadsheets with GA data is an advantage

·         Advanced Excel skills including charting and pivot tables

·         Some experience in AB / MV and usability testing software

·         General understanding of what UX is and experience in investigating what’s wrong, suggesting fixes and measuring the positive outcome

Web Developer - Head Office

We are looking for an innovative Web Developer to join our Head Office Ecommerce Team, based in the heart of Central London, to help facilitate the technical delivery and maintenance of all aspects of the company's website.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years commercial Web Development experience building websites using PHP, HTML, CSS, Objected orientated methodologies and MySQL.

Role and Responsibilities

·         Working closely with the creative and web content team to produce templates for web pages

·         Undertake general site maintenance and troubleshoot to provide appropriate solutions if and when problems occur

·         Developing HTML templates with CMS integration in mind

 

·    Testing all code/applications/sites prior to release (operating with an uncompromising attention to detail)

·         Support, produce and build emails and manage successful deployment

·         Liaising with external suppliers to coordinate deployments and raise any technical issues

·         Supporting the E-commerce content team and customer services team with any technical queries

·         Ability to provide accurate web development estimates, good communication skills and an excellent team player

·         Carry out weekly out of hours cover as part of the rota

Key skills required

  • Front-end web development skills (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JQuery)
  • Back-end development skills (basic ColdFusion, PHP and MySQL)
  • Photoshop (image manipulation, not design)
  • Experience with Content Management Systems
  • WAMP applications architecture
  • Knowledge of automated testing and load testing
  • Proven track record in responsive web site development and techniques experience
  • Proficiency in web development browser tools for speedy debugging and development
  • Experience with responsive HTML email production and using email service providers
  • Experience with spreadsheets and data manipulation
  • Experience with tag management tools (Qubit/Google tag manager)
  • Experience with version control
  • Experience of integrating third party APIs
